Objective
Ensure the bathroom in the healthcare facility is cleaned to the highest standards, maintaining hygiene and infection control as per Australian Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of Infection in Healthcare.
Cleaning Methods
Ensure the cleaning trolley is prepared with colour-coded cloths and mops, and adequately stocked with all necessary cleaning agents.
Dust surfaces utilising a damp microfibre cloth to effectively capture dust particles.
Apply disinfectant to the sink tap and countertop, ensuring an adequate dwell time before proceeding to wipe it clean.
Mop the floor utilising a two-bucket system to prevent cross-contamination.
Utilise a toilet brush and disinfectant to thoroughly scrub the toilet, ensuring all surfaces are adequately covered.
Spray glass cleaner onto mirrors and glass surfaces, then wipe with a lint-free cloth.
Empty the rubbish bin, sanitise the interior, and replace the liner.
Restock consumables, ensuring dispensers are functioning correctly.
Inspect the vent and grille, wiping them with a damp cloth if necessary.
