Objective
Ensure the shower room in the healthcare facility is cleaned and sanitised to the highest standards to prevent infection and maintain a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff.
Cleaning Methods
Ensure the cleaning trolley is prepared with all necessary supplies, making certain to utilise colour-coded cloths and mops.
Dispose of rubbish and replace the bin liner.
Apply a hospital-grade disinfectant to all shower surfaces, allowing for the appropriate dwell time.
Scrub the surface using a non-abrasive pad, then rinse thoroughly.
Descale the shower head and tap utilising a suitable descaling agent.
Inspect and clear the drain of any debris.
Disinfect all touchpoints by wiping them down with a disinfectant wipe.
Conduct a final inspection to ensure all areas meet quality criteria.
Refill the soap dispenser and verify its functionality.
Replenish the supply of paper towels and toilet paper as required.
Inspect mirror and glass surfaces, cleaning with a glass cleaner and microfibre cloth.

PassSurfaces are generally clean but may have some visible residue. Odour present but not overpowering. Supplies low but available. Limescale or soap scum visible but not excessive.
FailSurfaces are visibly dirty or unsanitised. Strong odour present. Supplies depleted. Significant limescale or soap scum present. Drains blocked or slow.
