Objective
To ensure the Central Sterile Supply area in the healthcare facility is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control, adhering to Australian guidelines and standards.
Cleaning Methods
Prepare the cleaning trolley with all necessary supplies, ensuring that colour-coded cloths and mops are used.
Dust all surfaces utilising a damp microfibre cloth to collect dust and inhibit dispersal.
Sanitise the work surface and equipment with a hospital-grade disinfectant, ensuring adherence to the contact time as per the manufacturer's instructions.

Mop the floor utilising a two-bucket system to prevent cross-contamination. Begin from the furthest corner and work towards the exit.
Clean the sink and tap using a non-abrasive cleaner, ensuring all soap scum and mineral deposits are thoroughly removed.
Wipe down walls and high-touch areas using disinfectant wipes, with a particular focus on door handles, light switches, and equipment controls.
Utilise a HEPA-filtered vacuum to thoroughly clean carpeted areas, ensuring effective removal of dust and allergens.

PassSurfaces have some dust or smudges. Floors have visible streaks. High-touch areas are partially sanitised. Rubbish bins are empty but not fully clean.
FailSurfaces are visibly dirty with dust, dirt, or stains. Floors have significant streaks or dirt. High-touch areas are not sanitised. Rubbish bins are full or dirty with noticeable odour.
