Objective
Ensure the Dirty Utility Room in the healthcare facility is cleaned and sanitised to meet Australian healthcare standards, minimising infection risks and maintaining a hygienic environment.
Cleaning Methods
Ensure you wear suitable personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves and masks.
Remove rubbish and replace the bin liner, ensuring the bins are clean and sanitised.
Utilise a colour-coded cloth to clean and sanitise all surfaces, commencing from the cleanest area and progressing to the dirtiest.
Mop the floor using a disinfectant solution, ensuring all areas are thoroughly covered.
Sanitise walls and doors by wiping them down with a suitable solution.
Clean and store all equipment, ensuring no cross-contamination occurs.
Refill soap and sanitiser dispensers as required.

PassSurfaces are mostly clean, mild odours present, bins are emptied but not cleaned, floors have visible marks, dispensers are low but not empty.
FailSurfaces are visibly dirty, strong odours present, bins are full or dirty, floors are dirty, dispensers are empty.
