Objective
To ensure the chemical storage area in the government building is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, minimising risks associated with chemical exposure and ensuring compliance with Australian workplace health and safety requirements.
Cleaning Methods
Implement a colour-coded cleaning system to avoid cross-contamination.
Dust all surfaces utilising a microfibre cloth to capture fine particles.
Sanitise the floor using a mop and a suitable chemical-resistant cleaning solution.
Empty the rubbish bin and replace the liner, ensuring the correct disposal of chemical waste.
Inspect the spill containment area and remove any residue using appropriate absorbent material.
Wipe down all labels and safety signs to ensure they are legible and free from dust.
Vacuum the ventilation grille and air vent utilising a vacuum cleaner equipped with a HEPA filter.
