Objective
To ensure shower facilities in education facilities are cleaned and sanitised to the highest Australian standards, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for all users.
Cleaning Methods
Prepare the cleaning trolley with all essential equipment and supplies, ensuring the use of colour-coded cloths and mops.
Dispose of all rubbish and replace the bin liner.
Spray and wipe all surfaces with a sanitising solution, ensuring to pay particular attention to high-touch areas.
Descale the tap and showerhead utilising a suitable descaling agent, followed by a thorough rinse and polish.
Scrub the shower floor and walls using a non-abrasive cleaner, then rinse thoroughly.
Inspect and clear the drain of any debris.
Replenish the soap dispenser and other consumables.
Clean mirrors and glass surfaces using a glass cleaner, ensuring no streaks remain.
Mop the floor using a disinfectant solution, ensuring no pools of water remain.

ExcellentAll surfaces are visibly clean and sanitised, with no streaks or residue. No lime scale or soap scum is present. Drains are clear, and consumables are fully stocked. No odours are detectable.
GoodSurfaces are clean with minimal streaks. Minor lime scale or soap scum may be present but not noticeable. Drains are mostly clear, and consumables are adequately stocked. Minimal odours present.
PassSurfaces are generally clean but may have visible streaks or residue. Lime scale or soap scum is noticeable. Drains are partially blocked, and consumables are low. Some odours present.
FailSurfaces are dirty with visible streaks and residue. Significant lime scale or soap scum is present. Drains are blocked, and consumables are depleted. Strong odours are present.
