Objective
Ensure the stairwell in the aged care facility is clean, safe, and hygienic for all residents and staff.
Cleaning Methods
Start by dusting all horizontal surfaces from top to bottom to avoid recontamination.
Vacuum all carpeted areas utilising a HEPA filter vacuum cleaner to ensure the capture of dust and allergens.
Mop the hard floor surface using a microfiber mop and a neutral pH disinfectant solution, ensuring no excess water is left on the floor.
Utilise a damp cloth, paired with an appropriate cleaning agent, to thoroughly clean walls and doors, with a particular focus on eliminating visible marks.
Sanitise handrails and high-touch areas using an approved disinfectant, ensuring adequate contact time as per the product's instructions.
Inspect and eliminate any cobwebs utilising an extendable duster.
Empty the waste bin, clean it using a disinfectant wipe, and then replace the liner.

ExcellentAll surfaces visibly clean, no dust, stains, or debris. Pleasant appearance with no odors. All cleaning tasks completed to highest standard.
GoodMost surfaces clean with minimal dust or minor marks. Generally tidy appearance. All major cleaning tasks completed satisfactorily.
PassBasic cleaning completed, surfaces generally clean but may have some minor dust or marks. Acceptable standard for routine operations.
FailVisible dirt, stains, or debris present. Unacceptable odors or untidy appearance. Cleaning tasks incomplete or inadequate. Requires immediate re-cleaning.
