Objective
Ensure the Dirty Utility area in the Aged Care Facility is maintained to the highest cleanliness and hygiene standards to prevent contamination and ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
Cleaning Methods
Begin by donning the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Collect and dispose of all waste, ensuring proper segregation and disposal.
Dust all surfaces with a microfibre cloth to minimise the dispersion of dust particles.
Apply an appropriate disinfectant to all surfaces, allowing the recommended contact time to elapse before wiping them clean.
Vacuum the floor to remove loose debris, then mop using a disinfectant solution, ensuring the floor is left dry.
Disinfect all high-touch areas using a disinfectant wipe or cloth.
Inspect the area to ensure all tasks are completed to the required standard.
Quality Criteria
ExcellentAll surfaces visibly clean, no dust, stains, or debris. Pleasant appearance with no odors. All cleaning tasks completed to highest standard.
GoodMost surfaces clean with minimal dust or minor marks. Generally tidy appearance. All major cleaning tasks completed satisfactorily.
PassBasic cleaning completed, surfaces generally clean but may have some minor dust or marks. Acceptable standard for routine operations.
FailVisible dirt, stains, or debris present. Unacceptable odors or untidy appearance. Cleaning tasks incomplete or inadequate. Requires immediate re-cleaning.
