Objective
Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming reception area in the aged care facility, maintaining high hygiene standards to protect residents, staff, and visitors.
Cleaning Methods
Start by dusting all surfaces from top to bottom to avoid recontamination of the cleaned area.
Thoroughly vacuum all carpeted areas and entrance mats, ensuring corners and edges are adequately attended to.
Mop hard floors utilising a two-bucket system to prevent cross-contamination, ensuring the floor is dry and safe for foot traffic.
Sanitise high-contact surfaces by using a disinfectant wipe or spray, ensuring sufficient contact time for effective germ elimination.
Clean glass surfaces using a glass cleaner and microfiber cloth to prevent streaking.
Empty the waste bin, sanitise both the interior and exterior, and replace the liner.
Quality Criteria
ExcellentAll surfaces visibly clean, no dust, stains, or debris. Pleasant appearance with no odors. All cleaning tasks completed to highest standard.
GoodMost surfaces clean with minimal dust or minor marks. Generally tidy appearance. All major cleaning tasks completed satisfactorily.
PassBasic cleaning completed, surfaces generally clean but may have some minor dust or marks. Acceptable standard for routine operations.
FailVisible dirt, stains, or debris present. Unacceptable odors or untidy appearance. Cleaning tasks incomplete or inadequate. Requires immediate re-cleaning.
