Objective
Ensure the freezer in the aged care facility is hygienically clean and free from contaminants to maintain food safety and comply with health regulations.
Cleaning Methods
Turn off the freezer and relocate all its contents to a temporary cold storage facility.
Use a food-safe cleaning agent to thoroughly clean all interior surfaces, ensuring complete coverage.
Scrub any persistent stains or residues using a non-abrasive pad.
Rinse the surface using clean water, then dry it with a clean cloth.
Sanitise all surfaces using a food-safe sanitiser, ensuring appropriate contact time is allowed.
Inspect the door seal and handle, ensuring they are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised.
Eliminate any ice accumulation utilising a plastic scraper, if required.
Switch the freezer back on and let it attain the correct temperature prior to reinstating items.

GoodMost surfaces clean with minimal dust or minor marks. Generally tidy appearance. All major cleaning tasks completed satisfactorily.

FailVisible dirt, stains, or debris present. Unacceptable odors or untidy appearance. Cleaning tasks incomplete or inadequate. Requires immediate re-cleaning.
