Objective
Ensure the POS counter area in retail facilities is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, enhancing customer experience and complying with Australian health and safety regulations.
Cleaning Methods
Prepare the area by removing all items from the benchtop surface.
Dust all surfaces utilising a microfibre cloth to effectively capture dust particles.
Apply an appropriate sanitising solution to a clean cloth and thoroughly wipe down the counter surface, ensuring all areas are covered.
Utilise a distinct cloth to clean electronic equipment, ensuring no liquid penetrates the device.
Empty the rubbish bin, replace the liner, and clean the bin's exterior with a disinfectant wipe.
Inspect the area for any remaining stains or spills and address them promptly.
Record all cleaning procedures in the cleaning logbook.

Performance LevelCriteria
ExcellentAll surfaces are visibly clean and free from dust, stains, and smudges. No odours present. Electronic equipment is spotless and operational. Rubbish bins are empty and clean.
GoodSurfaces are mostly clean with minor dust or smudges. No strong odours. Electronic equipment is clean with minor fingerprints. Rubbish bins are empty with clean liners.
PassSurfaces have some dust or smudges. Mild odours may be present. Electronic equipment has visible fingerprints. Rubbish bins are not overflowing but may have minor residue.
FailSurfaces are visibly dirty with dust, stains, or smudges. Strong odours present. Electronic equipment is dirty or malfunctioning. Rubbish bins are overflowing or dirty.
