Objective
Ensure the compactor area is maintained in a clean and hygienic condition, minimising risks associated with waste handling and ensuring compliance with Australian workplace health and safety standards.
Cleaning Methods
Start by wearing the suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which includes gloves and safety goggles.
Sweep the entire floor area using a broom, collect debris into a dustpan, and dispose of it in the designated rubbish bin.
Prepare a mop bucket with an appropriate cleaning solution, then mop the floor, ensuring all areas are thoroughly covered.
Utilise a sanitising spray and cloth to meticulously clean all touchpoints, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
Clean the external surface of the compactor by wiping it down with a damp cloth to eliminate dust and grime.
Empty all rubbish bins, replace the liners, and clean the bins using a disinfectant spray.
If necessary, utilise an odour neutraliser to guarantee the area is free from unpleasant smells.
