Objective
To ensure the Hazardous Materials Store is maintained in a clean, safe, and compliant condition, minimising risks associated with hazardous substances.
Cleaning Methods
Ensure all personnel don appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) before entering the designated area.
Begin by dusting all surfaces using a damp microfibre cloth to capture dust particles.
Sanitise the floor with a mop and an approved sanitising solution, ensuring uniform coverage.
Disinfect high-touch surfaces by wiping them down with a disinfectant wipe.
Collect and dispose of rubbish in the designated bin, adhering to hazardous waste disposal guidelines.
Immediately clean any spills using the appropriate spill kit and absorbent material.
Inspect and clean the ventilation grille using a vacuum fitted with a HEPA filter.

GoodMinor dust present on less than 5% of surfaces; surfaces are mostly sanitised; no strong odours; ventilation systems show minor dust accumulation.
PassVisible dust on 5-10% of surfaces; some surfaces may not be fully sanitised; mild odours present; ventilation systems require cleaning.
FailVisible dust on more than 10% of surfaces; surfaces are not sanitised; strong odours present; ventilation systems are clogged or non-functional.
