Objective
To ensure the paint shop is maintained at the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene, minimising contamination and ensuring a safe working environment.
Scope of Work
- Dusting of all surfaces including walls, ceilings, and equipment.
- Wet mopping of floors using appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Sanitising of high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and workbenches.
- Emptying and cleaning of rubbish bins.
- Cleaning and sanitising of washroom facilities.
- Removal of paint residues and spills from all surfaces.
- Cleaning of air vents and filters to prevent dust accumulation.
Method
- Use a colour-coded cleaning system to avoid cross-contamination.
- Begin with dusting all surfaces using microfibre cloths to capture dust particles.
- Wet mop floors with a neutral pH cleaner, ensuring no residue is left.
- Sanitise high-touch areas with a disinfectant approved for industrial use.
- Empty rubbish bins and replace liners, ensuring bins are sanitised.
- Use appropriate solvents to remove paint residues from surfaces.
- Clean air vents and filters using a vacuum with a HEPA filter.

Quality Criteria
Performance Level | Criteria |

Excellent | All surfaces are free from dust and paint residues. Floors are spotless with no visible marks. High-touch areas are sanitised and free from fingerprints. Air vents are clean with no dust accumulation. |
Good | Minor dust on surfaces but no paint residues. Floors have minimal marks. High-touch areas are mostly sanitised. Air vents have slight dust. |
Pass | Noticeable dust on surfaces and some paint residues. Floors have visible marks. High-touch areas are partially sanitised. Air vents have moderate dust. |
Fail | Significant dust and paint residues on surfaces. Floors are dirty with numerous marks. High-touch areas are not sanitised. Air vents are clogged with dust. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
- Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
- Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
- Photos: Before and after photos as requested to document cleaning completion and quality
