Objective

Ensure the Chemotherapy Suite is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, minimising infection risks and ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.

Scope of Work
  • Dust all horizontal surfaces including benches, tables, and equipment.
  • Sanitise all high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and taps.
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas and mop hard floors using a colour-coded system to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Empty and sanitise rubbish bins, ensuring proper waste segregation.
  • Clean and sanitise patient chairs and treatment areas.
  • Wipe down all accessible vertical surfaces to remove marks and stains.
  • Ensure all cleaning activities comply with infection control protocols.
Method
  1. Prepare the cleaning trolley with appropriate colour-coded cloths and mops.
  2. Dust all surfaces using a microfibre cloth, starting from the highest point and working downwards.
  3. Sanitise high-touch areas with an approved disinfectant, allowing the required contact time.
  4. Vacuum carpets using a HEPA-filtered vacuum cleaner to reduce airborne particles.
  5. Mop hard floors with a neutral detergent, using separate mops for different areas to prevent cross-contamination.
  6. Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and sanitise the bin surfaces.
  7. Inspect all areas for cleanliness and address any missed spots.
