Objective

Ensure the stairwell in the aged care facility is clean, safe, and hygienic for all residents and staff.

Scope of Work
  • Dust all horizontal surfaces including handrails, ledges, and corners.
  • Vacuum carpeted areas and mats.
  • Mop hard floor surfaces with a disinfectant solution.
  • Wipe down walls and doors to remove any marks or stains.
  • Sanitize handrails and high-touch areas.
  • Remove cobwebs from ceilings and corners.
  • Empty and clean waste bins, replace liners.
Method
  1. Begin by dusting all horizontal surfaces from top to bottom to prevent recontamination.
  2. Vacuum all carpeted areas using a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner to ensure dust and allergens are captured.
  3. Mop hard floor surfaces with a microfiber mop and a neutral pH disinfectant solution, ensuring no excess water is left on the floor.
  4. Use a damp cloth with a suitable cleaning agent to wipe down walls and doors, focusing on removing visible marks.
  5. Sanitize handrails and high-touch areas with an approved disinfectant, allowing adequate contact time as per product instructions.
  6. Inspect and remove any cobwebs using an extendable duster.
  7. Empty waste bins, clean with a disinfectant wipe, and replace liners.
