Objective
To maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment in the music room of the aged care facility, ensuring compliance with Australian cleaning standards and infection control guidelines.
Scope of Work
- Dust all surfaces including musical instruments, furniture, and fixtures.
- Vacuum carpeted areas and rugs.
- Mop hard floors with appropriate disinfectant.
- Sanitise high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and music stands.
- Clean windows and mirrors to ensure they are free from streaks and smudges.
- Empty rubbish bins and replace liners.
- Ensure air vents and filters are free from dust and debris.
Method
- Begin by dusting all surfaces using a microfibre cloth to capture dust and allergens.
- Vacuum carpeted areas using a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner to minimise airborne particles.
- Mop hard floors with a neutral pH disinfectant, ensuring no residue is left behind.
- Use a hospital-grade disinfectant to sanitise high-touch areas, allowing appropriate contact time for effectiveness.
- Clean windows and mirrors with a glass cleaner, using a squeegee for a streak-free finish.
- Empty rubbish bins, ensuring waste is disposed of according to facility protocols, and replace liners.
- Inspect and clean air vents and filters, ensuring they are free from dust and obstructions.

Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
