Objective
Ensure the ambulance bay in the aged care facility is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring safety and infection control compliance.
Scope of Work
- Remove all rubbish and debris from the ambulance bay area.
- Sanitise all high-touch surfaces including door handles, railings, and equipment storage areas.
- Mop and disinfect the floor using appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Dust and wipe down all surfaces, ensuring no accumulation of dust or dirt.
- Inspect and clean any drainage areas to prevent blockages.
- Ensure all cleaning is performed using a colour-coded system to prevent cross-contamination.
Method
- Begin by donning appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as per Australian health and safety guidelines.
- Use a colour-coded trolley to organise cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Remove all visible rubbish and place it in the designated rubbish bins.
- Dust all surfaces using a microfibre cloth to capture dust particles effectively.
- Sanitise high-touch areas with a hospital-grade disinfectant, ensuring contact time as per manufacturer's instructions.
- Mop the floor with a disinfectant solution, ensuring even coverage and allowing adequate drying time.
- Inspect drainage areas and remove any debris to ensure proper water flow.
- Conduct a final inspection to ensure all areas meet the cleanliness standards.
