Objective
To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and infection control in the main corridor of a healthcare facility, ensuring compliance with Australian health and safety regulations.
Scope of Work
- Dust all horizontal surfaces including ledges, skirting boards, and fixtures.
- Sanitise high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and handrails.
- Vacuum carpeted areas and spot clean stains.
- Mop hard floors using a colour-coded system to prevent cross-contamination.
- Empty and sanitise rubbish bins, replacing liners as needed.
- Clean and polish glass surfaces and mirrors.
- Ensure all cleaning activities adhere to infection control protocols.
Method
- Prepare cleaning trolley with appropriate colour-coded cloths and mops.
- Dust surfaces using a microfibre cloth, starting from the highest point and working downwards.
- Sanitise high-touch areas with a hospital-grade disinfectant.
- Vacuum carpets using a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner to minimise airborne particles.
- Mop hard floors with a neutral pH cleaner, ensuring no residue is left.
- Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and sanitise bin surfaces.
- Clean glass surfaces with a streak-free glass cleaner.
- Conduct a final inspection to ensure all tasks are completed to standard.
