Objective
Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and infection control in the mortuary of a healthcare facility, adhering to Australian cleaning standards and workplace health and safety requirements.
Scope of Work
- Dusting all horizontal surfaces, including ledges, sills, and equipment.
- Sanitising all work surfaces, including autopsy tables and benches.
- Mopping floors with a disinfectant solution.
- Cleaning and sanitising sinks and taps.
- Emptying and sanitising rubbish bins.
- Cleaning and sanitising door handles and light switches.
- Ensuring all cleaning equipment is cleaned and stored correctly after use.
Method
- Prepare the area by removing any waste and ensuring all surfaces are clear.
- Dust all horizontal surfaces using a damp microfibre cloth to minimise airborne particles.
- Sanitise all work surfaces with a hospital-grade disinfectant, ensuring contact time as per manufacturer's instructions.
- Mop floors using a two-bucket system with a disinfectant solution, ensuring no cross-contamination between clean and dirty water.
- Clean and sanitise sinks and taps, ensuring all visible stains and residues are removed.
- Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and sanitise the bin interior and exterior.
- Wipe down door handles and light switches with disinfectant wipes.
- Inspect all areas to ensure compliance with cleaning standards and rectify any issues immediately.

Documentation
