Objective

Ensure the boiler room in the healthcare facility is cleaned to the highest standards to maintain a safe and hygienic environment, minimising infection risks and ensuring compliance with Australian health and safety regulations.

Scope of Work
  • Dust all surfaces including pipes, ledges, and equipment.
  • Sanitise high-touch areas such as door handles and light switches.
  • Vacuum and mop floors using a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Empty and sanitise rubbish bins.
  • Wipe down walls and remove any cobwebs.
  • Ensure all cleaning activities comply with infection control guidelines.
Method
  1. Prepare the cleaning trolley with appropriate colour-coded cloths and mops.
  2. Dust all surfaces using a damp microfibre cloth to capture dust particles.
  3. Sanitise high-touch areas with a hospital-grade disinfectant.
  4. Vacuum the floor using a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner to capture fine dust particles.
  5. Mop the floor with a neutral detergent solution, ensuring no residue is left.
  6. Empty rubbish bins and replace liners, sanitising the bin interior and exterior.
  7. Inspect the area for any remaining dust or debris and address as needed.
