Objective
Ensure the sauna area in hospitality facilities is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, providing a safe and pleasant environment for all users.
Scope of Work
- Thoroughly clean and sanitise all surfaces, including benches, walls, and floors.
- Remove any rubbish and ensure bins are emptied and sanitised.
- Ensure all glass surfaces are streak-free and sanitised.
- Maintain a clean and odour-free environment by using appropriate cleaning agents.
- Ensure all taps and fittings are polished and free from water spots.
- Use colour-coded cleaning systems to prevent cross-contamination.
Method
- Begin by removing all rubbish and emptying bins, then sanitise the bins.
- Dust all surfaces, including benches and ledges, using a microfibre cloth.
- Sanitise all surfaces with a suitable disinfectant, focusing on high-touch areas such as benches and door handles.
- Mop the floors using a neutral pH cleaner, ensuring no residue is left behind.
- Clean glass surfaces with a glass cleaner, ensuring they are streak-free.
- Polish taps and fittings to remove water spots and ensure they are sanitised.

Quality Criteria
Performance Level | Criteria |

Good | Most surfaces are clean and sanitised, with minimal streaks or residue. No strong odours present. Bins are empty. Glass surfaces have minor streaks. Taps and fittings have minimal water spots. |
Pass | Surfaces are generally clean but may have some streaks or residue. Mild odours may be present. Bins are mostly empty. Glass surfaces have noticeable streaks. Taps and fittings have visible water spots. |
Fail | Surfaces are visibly dirty or unsanitised. Strong odours present. Bins are full or unsanitised. Glass surfaces are heavily streaked. Taps and fittings have significant water spots. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
- Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
- Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
