Objective
To ensure the sports court within the government building is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, providing a safe and pleasant environment for all users.
Scope of Work
- Dust and sweep the entire court surface to remove debris and dust particles.
- Mop the court using a neutral pH cleaner to maintain surface integrity and safety.
- Sanitise high-touch areas such as door handles, light switches, and seating areas.
- Empty and clean rubbish bins, replacing liners as needed.
- Inspect and clean surrounding areas including benches and spectator seating.
- Ensure all cleaning activities comply with Australian workplace health and safety requirements.
Method
- Begin by dusting and sweeping the entire court surface using a microfibre dust mop to capture dust and debris.
- Prepare a cleaning solution with a neutral pH cleaner and mop the court, ensuring even coverage and avoiding excess moisture.
- Use a colour-coded cloth system to sanitise high-touch areas, ensuring cross-contamination is avoided.
- Empty rubbish bins, clean them with a disinfectant, and replace liners.
- Wipe down benches and seating areas with a damp cloth and appropriate cleaner.
- Conduct a final inspection to ensure all areas meet the quality criteria.

Performance Level | Criteria |

Fail | Visible dust and debris throughout. High-touch areas are visibly dirty. Rubbish bins are full or have significant residue. Unpleasant odours present. |
Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
- Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
- Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
- Photos: Before and after photos as requested to document cleaning completion and quality
