Objective
Ensure the Incident Command area in the Government Building is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, adhering to Australian cleaning standards and workplace health and safety requirements.
Scope of Work
- Dust all surfaces, including desks, tables, and equipment.
- Vacuum all carpeted areas and spot clean as necessary.
- Mop hard floors with appropriate cleaning solution.
- Sanitise all high-touch surfaces, including door handles, light switches, and telephones.
- Empty rubbish bins and replace liners.
- Clean and sanitise toilets and replenish supplies.
- Ensure all cleaning is conducted using a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.
Method
- Prepare cleaning trolley with all necessary supplies and equipment, ensuring colour-coded cloths and mops are used.
- Begin by dusting all surfaces using a microfibre cloth, working from high to low areas.
- Vacuum all carpeted areas, ensuring corners and edges are thoroughly cleaned.
- Mop hard floors using a damp mop and appropriate cleaning solution, ensuring no excess water is left on the floor.
- Sanitise high-touch surfaces using a disinfectant spray and cloth, ensuring all areas are covered.
- Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and dispose of waste according to facility protocols.
- Clean toilets using toilet cleaner and brush, sanitise all fixtures, and replenish toilet paper and soap.

Documentation
- Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks
- Incident Reports: Documentation of any cleaning-related incidents, spills, or issues encountered
- Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
- Photos: Before and after photos as requested to document cleaning completion and quality
