Objective
Ensure the autopsy room in the government building is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, adhering to Australian cleaning standards and infection control guidelines.
Scope of Work
- Sanitise all surfaces, including benches, tables, and equipment.
- Clean and disinfect floors using appropriate mopping techniques.
- Wipe down walls and doors with disinfectant solutions.
- Empty and sanitise rubbish bins.
- Ensure all taps and sinks are cleaned and sanitised.
- Use colour-coded cleaning systems to prevent cross-contamination.
- Ensure proper disposal of biohazardous waste in compliance with regulations.
Method
- Prepare cleaning trolley with all necessary equipment and supplies, ensuring colour-coded cloths and mops are used.
- Begin by removing all waste and disposing of it in designated biohazard containers.
- Sanitise all surfaces using a hospital-grade disinfectant, ensuring contact time as per manufacturer's instructions.
- Mop floors with a disinfectant solution, using a figure-eight motion to ensure full coverage.
- Wipe down walls and doors, paying special attention to high-touch areas.
- Clean and sanitise sinks and taps, ensuring no residue is left.
- Inspect the room for any missed areas and re-clean if necessary.

Performance Level | Criteria |

Excellent | All surfaces are visibly clean and sanitised, no odours present, floors are spotless, and all waste is properly disposed of. No visible dust or residue on any surface. |
Good | Surfaces are clean with minimal residue, no strong odours, floors are clean with minor spots, and waste is disposed of correctly. Minimal dust present. |
Pass | Surfaces are mostly clean with some residue, mild odours present, floors have visible spots, and waste disposal is adequate. Some dust accumulation. |
Fail | Surfaces are visibly dirty, strong odours present, floors are dirty, and waste is not disposed of properly. Significant dust accumulation. |
