Objective

To ensure shower facilities in education facilities are cleaned and sanitised to the highest Australian standards, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for all users.

Scope of Work
  • Remove all rubbish and dispose of in designated rubbish bins.
  • Clean and sanitise all shower cubicles, including walls, floors, and fixtures.
  • Descale and polish taps and showerheads to prevent lime scale build-up.
  • Clean and sanitise all surfaces, including benches and hooks.
  • Ensure all drains are free from blockages and clean.
  • Replenish soap dispensers and other consumables as needed.
  • Inspect and clean mirrors and glass surfaces.
  • Ensure all floors are mopped and free from water pooling.
  • Use colour-coded cleaning systems to prevent cross-contamination.
Method
  1. Prepare cleaning trolley with all necessary equipment and supplies, ensuring colour-coded cloths and mops are used.
  2. Remove all rubbish and replace bin liners.
  3. Spray and wipe down all surfaces with a sanitising solution, paying special attention to high-touch areas.
  4. Descale taps and showerheads using an appropriate descaling agent, then rinse and polish.
  5. Scrub shower floors and walls with a non-abrasive cleaner, then rinse thoroughly.
  6. Check and clear drains of any debris.
  7. Replenish soap dispensers and other consumables.
  8. Clean mirrors and glass surfaces with a glass cleaner, ensuring no streaks remain.
  9. Mop floors with a disinfectant solution, ensuring no water pooling remains.

GoodSurfaces are clean with minimal streaks. Minor lime scale or soap scum may be present but not noticeable. Drains are mostly clear, and consumables are adequately stocked. Minimal odours present.
PassSurfaces are generally clean but may have visible streaks or residue. Lime scale or soap scum is noticeable. Drains are partially blocked, and consumables are low. Some odours present.
FailSurfaces are dirty with visible streaks and residue. Significant lime scale or soap scum is present. Drains are blocked, and consumables are depleted. Strong odours are present.
