Objective

Ensure the walking paths in the aged care facility are clean, safe, and hygienic for residents and staff.

Scope of Work
  • Remove all visible debris and litter from walking paths.
  • Dust and wipe down all handrails and adjacent surfaces.
  • Sanitize high-touch areas such as handrails and door handles.
  • Vacuum any carpeted sections of the walking paths.
  • Mop hard surface areas with a disinfectant solution.
  • Ensure all cleaning activities are conducted in a manner that minimizes disruption to residents.
Method
  1. Begin by collecting all visible debris and litter using appropriate waste disposal methods.
  2. Use a microfiber cloth to dust and wipe down handrails and adjacent surfaces.
  3. Apply a hospital-grade disinfectant to high-touch areas and allow appropriate dwell time before wiping clean.
  4. Vacuum carpeted sections using a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner to ensure dust and allergens are minimized.
  5. Mop hard surfaces with a disinfectant solution, ensuring even coverage and allowing surfaces to air dry.
  6. Conduct a final inspection to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards.

Documentation
  • Cleaning Checklist: Digital or paper checklist to verify completion of all cleaning tasks

  • Maintenance Records: Record any maintenance needs identified during cleaning (for reporting to maintenance team)
