Objective

Ensure the pool area in the aged care facility is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, minimizing the risk of infection and ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for residents.

Scope of Work
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize all poolside surfaces, including floors, walls, and seating areas.
  • Wipe down and disinfect all handrails, ladders, and poolside equipment.
  • Vacuum and mop all tiled areas to remove dirt and debris.
  • Clean and sanitize changing rooms, showers, and lockers.
  • Ensure all waste bins are emptied and sanitized.
  • Remove any visible debris from the pool water surface.
  • Dust and wipe down all light fixtures and ventilation grilles.
Method
  1. Begin by removing all loose debris from the pool area using a broom and dustpan.
  2. Apply a suitable disinfectant to all surfaces, allowing appropriate dwell time for effective sanitization.
  3. Use a mop and bucket with a neutral pH cleaner to mop all tiled surfaces, ensuring no residue is left.
  4. Wipe down all handrails, ladders, and equipment with a disinfectant wipe.
  5. Vacuum any carpeted areas using a HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner.
  6. Clean and sanitize changing rooms and showers with a high-grade disinfectant, focusing on high-touch areas.
  7. Inspect and clean all light fixtures and ventilation grilles, removing dust and cobwebs.
