Objective
To ensure the playground area within the government building is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring safety and compliance with Australian health and safety regulations.
Cleaning Methods
Start by collecting all noticeable rubbish and debris, then deposit it in the appropriate waste bin.
Utilise a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination. Use red for high-risk areas and blue for general areas.
Apply an appropriate sanitising solution to all play equipment, ensuring sufficient contact time prior to wiping it clean.
Sweep hard surfaces using a broom, then proceed to mop with a neutral detergent.
Empty the rubbish bin, replace the liner, and then sanitise the bin's surface.
For cleaning soft fall surfaces, utilise an outdoor-specific vacuum to eliminate dirt and debris.
Apply a graffiti remover to any marked surface, ensuring the product is safe for the material in question.

GoodMinor debris present but no significant rubbish. Play equipment is mostly clean with minor marks. Rubbish bins are empty but may have minor odours. Soft fall surfaces are mostly clean.
PassNoticeable debris and some rubbish present. Play equipment has visible marks. Rubbish bins are not overflowing but have noticeable odours. Soft fall surfaces have visible dirt.
FailSignificant rubbish and debris present. Play equipment is dirty with graffiti. Rubbish bins are overflowing and unsanitised. Soft fall surfaces are heavily contaminated.
