Objective
Ensure the sluice room in the aged care facility is maintained at the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene to prevent infection and ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
Cleaning Methods
Prior to entering the sluice room, confirm that you have donned the correct personal protective equipment (PPE).
Remove all rubbish and dispose of it in the designated waste disposal unit.
Apply an appropriate disinfectant to all surfaces, allowing the recommended contact time to elapse before wiping them clean.
Utilise a microfibre cloth to dust all horizontal surfaces and ledges.
Sanitise and clean all high-touch areas using a disinfectant wipe.
Commence mopping the floor with a disinfectant solution, initiating from the most distant corner and progressing towards the exit.
Inspect the room to confirm all areas have been thoroughly cleaned and sanitised to the required standard.
Restock cleaning supplies and ensure their safe storage.
Quality Criteria
ExcellentAll surfaces visibly clean, no dust, stains, or debris. Pleasant appearance with no odors. All cleaning tasks completed to highest standard.
GoodMost surfaces clean with minimal dust or minor marks. Generally tidy appearance. All major cleaning tasks completed satisfactorily.
PassBasic cleaning completed, surfaces generally clean but may have some minor dust or marks. Acceptable standard for routine operations.
FailVisible dirt, stains, or debris present. Unacceptable odors or untidy appearance. Cleaning tasks incomplete or inadequate. Requires immediate re-cleaning.
