Objective
To ensure the smoking area in the industrial facility is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, adhering to Australian workplace health and safety requirements.
Cleaning Methods
Implement a colour-coded cleaning system to avoid cross-contamination.
Begin by removing all visible rubbish and cigarette butts, placing them into a designated rubbish bag.
Empty the rubbish bin and sanitise it using a suitable disinfectant.
Sweep the floor to eliminate loose debris, then mop using an appropriate cleaning solution.
Ensure all ashtrays are emptied and cleaned, then wipe down all surfaces with a disinfectant wipe.
Sanitise the seating area utilising an appropriate upholstery cleaner, if applicable.
Ensure all signage is free from dirt and grime, cleaning with a damp cloth if necessary.
Inspect the sanitising station and refill as necessary.

FailSignificant rubbish or cigarette butts present; surfaces are dirty; bins are overflowing and have strong odour; floors are dirty with visible debris; signage is unclear or unreadable; sanitising stations are empty.
